Final Paper: 25%
Daily Grades include reading quizzes, four simple map posts, one rich map post, and two blog posts. Each of your two posts must be about a different text. When calculating your daily grade I will also consider whether you signed up for twitter in a timely fashion, perused links I provided to outside pages, participated in classroom discussion, and contributed to this blog in a timely and thought-provoking way. I expect you to read the blog posts your classmates contribute and to react to them on occasion either by posting a response or by incorporating what someone else wrote into our class discussions.
Instructions and due dates for map posts are included on the mapping literature page.
Blog posts should be added as comments to the page associated with a given book. They must be at least 150 words in length, thoughtful, and critical. Do not summarize; rather, interpret and close read a passage or react to a topic introduced during class discussion.
Near the end of the term I will require you to cut and paste your 5 map posts and two blog posts into a word document, which you will print out and gather in a folder or portfolio.
To pass this course you must engage in class activities and complete all assignments.
